» The Status of NMA
Sep 26, 2008 - 6:39 PM - by Pseudopath
Hello and welcome to NMA! I'm sorry to say that the game is no longer being moderated or run by an active staff. Players are still posting and are welcome to continue playing, but there will be no further game-wide staff run events. Applications can still be posted and will be approved so new people are free to join, however, they will not be subject to any kind of review or our normal rigorous screen process.

The boards will remain open for the time being, but could be subject to closure at any time.

» Mutant Manifesto #1
Aug 21, 2008 - 10:03 PM - by Otacon
Those surfing the darker crooks of the Internet, or walking down some of the less prestigious neighborhoods of the Big Apple, were likely to find more than they bargained for on the afternoon of April 20th: propoganda. Flooding certain hacked current events sites and littering the streets with literally thousands of fliers were the words of a particularly hostile sect of mutant protestors whose actions were tailored to inspire revolution. Their illegal publication dubbed the Mutant Manifesto, these mutants seem to be more interested in fueling the fires of human/mutant violence than stifling the flames of intolerence licking away at our country:

Quote:
ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

THIS IS A NOTICE TO ALL MUTANTS WITHIN THE TRI-STATE AREA WHO ARE FIT AND FRUSTRATED ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH THE PIG REGIME OF HUMAN MONSTERS RUNNING OUR COUNTRY TODAY.

TOO LONG HAVE WE SAT BY WAITING FOR SOMEONE

Xavier’s Institute for Missing Students
By: Alex Finnes

Close to a year ago we published an article revolving around the Xavier’s Institute. Run by one of the most influential names in Mutant Rights, Charles Xavier, the Institute has been known to take in those living the privileged life like many preparatory schools. But unlike most Xavier’s offers a program to pay full tuition for those less fortunate. For this Xavier has been praised but as of late a critical eye has fallen on him and his school. We’ve recently had it brought to our attention that things at Xavier’s may not be as wonderful as it appears to the outside world. Because of that this reporter is going to the outskirts of Salem Center to 1407 Graymalkin Lane in hopes of finding some answers.

Upon approaching Xavier’s my eyes were instantly drawn to the large metal gates. Black and cast iron with large circular cut outs, silver X’s inside, the gat e towered over head. Whether it was to keep me out or to keep others in I didn’t... [Read More]

TWN News
April 15, 2007

A research team was deployed earlier in the week to the Himalayan Mountains at the behest of Ronald Carlisle, the vice president of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In response to the panic gripping the medical community in the wake of such a drastic deployment, Carlisle spoke words of reassurance. “The situation in the Range, while of interest to the CDC, is nowhere near the level of a pandemic.”

Even so, the deployment of an American research team into the Asian mountain range has caused the raising of several eyebrows in the medical community. In a world still relatively new to the scare of terrorist threats such as anthrax and smallpox, as well as the onset of a potential outbreak of the avian influenza, the scrutiny seems well-placed.

Among the research team is veteran microbiologist Thomas Elder, who agreed to speak with a TWN representative flown into the Range late yesterday evening. When asked why the team was sent, Elder refused to comment on specifics, but... [Read More]
